This song was covered by the boys in concert five times over a period of twenty years, and all five performances have been commercially released.

That is indeed the song I had in mind! But now that I've looked into it more carefully, It looks like the source I was working from is wrong. It listed the following performances, all released commercially:

Date Album
11 Feb 1969 Fillmore East 2-11-69
1 Mar 1969 Fillmore West 1969 - The Complete Recordings
31 Mar 1988 Road Trips Volume 4, Number 2
2 Apr 1989 Download Series Vol 9
9 Oct 1989 Warlocks Box

The two from 1969 are performances of Hey Jude, but the other three appear to be just Hey Jude Reprise, following Dear Mr. Fantasy, and (oops) setlists.net lists 25 others from 1985-1990:

http://www.setlists.net/?search=true&;venue=&city=&state=&month=&day=&year=&songs=Hey+Jude%0D%0A&submit=Search

So I guess I...um... withdraw the question. Sorry, folks.

I know, but I had to take my shot.

I knew they were all '72 and the E72 versions obviously released commercially. I thought maybe the 20 years was a smoke screen, but I was pretty sure the other versions had not been released. Thus I was fairly certain I was wrong. Still, it's fun to play.

I am going to guess Good Lovin.

Most of the versions released are from the 70's Bertha>Good Lovin' arrangement. I think a few are from Pig Pen.

None from the 80's - so maybe this is incorrect.

Or is it Minglewood? Bobby.

Good Lovin' was performed 428 times in concert (over a 29 year period), and 45 of those performances have been released commercially.

Strange answer. Did I not express the question clearly?
